Dental FAQ in south eastern Melbourne

How often should I go to the dentist?

The key to good dental health is prevention. The frequency of your visit is dependent on your oral hygiene level and oral disease risk. For patients with good oral hygiene and oral health, we recommended a visit the dentist and hygienist every six months to ensure your health is maintained. For patients with a high risk of oral disease or active oral disease, we will recommend more frequent visits.

Can I claim dental treatment back from private health insurance?

Patients who have extras or dental coverage with private health insurance can make a claim for dental treatment; however, the rebate is dependent on the patient’s coverage.

What is a dental implant?

Dental implants are the closest alternative to natural teeth. Dental implant treatment can provide improved function and enable you to chew and smile with confidence. As a form of cosmetic dentistry, dental implants offer a permanent and proven solution to missing teeth. The implant process involves attaching a custom-made, artificial tooth to an anchor post-surgically implanted into the jawbone.
